Cooking with gas

The new house has an electric stove (BOOOOO).  And since the new neighborhood does not have Nat Gas available, we are having a large propane tank installed so that we can replace the stove with a gas model.   To keep the tank out of view, upper management wants a view blocking wall added.

Note the use of expanding foam instead of concrete. More info below.

Post in and plumb.  I used a 2-part expanding foam instead of concrete.

Product detail- for those interested in such things.

It was an interesting product and package.  The foam is something that has been used for years in other applications, This package contains enough for a single post, in an 8in diameter hole about 3 ft deep.  It is a heavy gauge plastic bag that has a sealed area dividing the 2 components.  You roll the bag from one end and the pressure pops the seal inside making it one internal bag.  You have about 15 seconds to squeeze/shake/massage the bag in order to mix the 2 parts.  Then you need to cut off a corner and pour the liquid in the hole.

  1. Nice! Never heard of that goo before.

My technique has been to dig the hole, insert the post and then throw in a bag of Sakrete along with some rocks. Cover it up and hose it down.

Did upper management even consider an attractive and interesting paint job on the tank?
